SPA DAY AT HOME WITH D’ALBA
SARAH OH on MAY 18, 2020
I love a good spa day and getting indulged from head to toe with luxurious skincare goodies. With the current global situation, making an appointment and walking in for spa day seems like a dream. However, there is hope for those of us desperate for a pamper session. You can have a spa day at home with a gourmet-inspired skincare brand called, d’Alba!
Originally from Korea, d’Alba is a luxury skincare brand that focuses on the posh culinary ingredient, white truffle. The white truffle, also known as trifola d’Alba Madonna, it is found mainly in the small town of Alba in Piedmont, Italy. ‘Alba’ also means sunrise in Italian, and after this spa day at home, your skin and body will glow like the new day.
Before I get into the spa day routine, let’s talk about the benefits of white truffle. White truffle is anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. It contains an enzyme called, Superoxide Dismutase which helps to repair damaged skin while preventing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It is also rich in essential fatty acids that nourish the skin. It is unquestionably a spa-worthy ingredient.
Now it’s time to get on your robe and a cute headband. Don’t forget to turn on some relaxing music and light your ‘boujee-est’ candle. Let’s get to spoiling ourselves at home!
SPA ROUTINE STEP 1: CLEANSE
When you go in for a facial, the esthetician does a cleansing routine. Now, let’s face it, most of us haven’t worn makeup in weeks, so let’s get into it with the d’Alba Peptide No Sebum Gel Cleanser. This mild pH 5.5 cleanser formulated with white truffle extract, peptide, and BHA will clear skin of excess oil and won’t strip the skin after use. Make sure to massage around oiler areas on the face and rinse with lukewarm water.
TIP: BEFORE CLEANSING, STEAM YOUR FACE WITH A WARM TOWEL FOR A FEW MINUTES TO SOFTEN THE SEBUM.
SPA ROUTINE STEP 2: TONE AND NOURISH
After cleansing, you want to add back moisture back as soon as possible. At the spa, the esthetician will be ready with the next step. However, since we are doing it ourselves, we can tone and nourish our skin within 3 seconds using the d’Alba First Serum Spray. The golden yellow top layer is the serum oil and the bottom layer is the white truffle extract essence. The oil layer consists of 20 vegetable oil including sunflower oil and avocado oil. Before you use it, shake generously and drench your face and neck with this liquid gold.
SPA ROUTINE STEP 3: SOOTHE AND HYDRATE
Depending on the time of day you decide to do your spa at home, here are two options!
DAYTIME: For an extra layer of hydration, lock in moisture with a balmy cream. The d’Alba White Truffle Eco Moisturizing Cream which contains 53% lotus flower water, shea butter, sodium hyaluronate to deeply hydrate and soothe skin. It also feels amazing when you apply it. Do a mini face massage by gliding your knuckles under the cheekbones and jawline. Press with your thumbs between the brows to relieve tension.
NIGHTTIME: I’m always falling asleep when I get facials because they are so relaxing. If you want to wake up the next day looking like you actually went to the spa, apply the d’Alba Waterfull Sleeping Pack to nourish skin overnight so you will wake up to hydrated skin! The gel texture sinks right in so your sleep won’t be disrupted with your skin sticking to your pillow.
SPA ROUTINE STEP 4: BODY CARE AND AROMATHERAPY
It wouldn’t be a spa day without pampering our bodies and nose! The d’Alba White Truffle Body Glow Spray Serum is a perfect way to moisturize the skin without heavy creams or oils. The easy to use mist type also takes away the labor of rubbing. It has a similar formula to the face version, and make sure to shake well before use. As for the aromatherapy portion of the at-home spa, the scent of the body spray serum is heavenly! The fresh citrus and floral-fruity notes are reminiscent of a classy spa establishment.
With a spa routine this simple, you could do this every day! I hope you will get to try this spa routine for yourself and to relieve some stress and pamper your skin. What else would you add to your spa at home?
