Here it is! The debut post of Geeks ‘n Cheeks.

Recently I had some money… yes just some and decided to buy a few things from one of my favourite e-shops Jolse.com. They specialise in korean products, have great service and the sweetest customer services.

I’ve been a fan of Korean make up for years now, seeing that they’re so natural, yet healthier for the skin than most western products. I’m honestly not a fan of foundation, because it’s looks and feels like it’s too much to wear. But BB cream is light, easy to put on and you need so little product. It’s great for beginners to use and very easy to work with.

An innovative product on Korea for the past few years has been the BB cushion. It’s a compact container with a puff and a cushion you can pat the product from. It’s not a powder, but the product in a liquid form that you can apply without getting your hands dirty and easy to bring along.

The Innisfree Long Wear Cushion is one of these BB cushions. Meejmuse, also known as Jen, is a famous Korean-Australian beauty blogger whose videos inspired me to purchase one of these. The Long Wear Cushion is one of her favourites, hence I bought it.

The product comes in four shades 13 light beige, 21 natural beige, 23 true beige and 31 deep beige. I have a slight tan skin tone and bought the darkest shade on Jolse which is 23 (since 31 seemed a bit too dark to me), because despite being light skinned for a tan person Innisfree products are pretty light compared to some other brands. The bb cream has SPF50+/PA+++ so sun protection is included, which to me is a very important point.

As you can see in the picture, the product itself might seem a bit pale and light, but the application is really smooth and it blends well.  You can apply extra layers on areas to either highlight or for fuller coverage. However there is medium coverage, so you might to want spot conceal areas you want to hide. It does not cover the dark circles completely either, so a concealer here is needed as well.

Packaging, first impression, product description, price.

The packaging is really compact and feminine. My first impression was a totally spies compowder, which immediately brought back childhood memories of the series. The product description is in korean as well as in english, which makes it easy for international buyers to find out about the product. I was really excited to buy this. Innisfree has three types of cushions and I want all of them. The price is around $20 for this product, which in my opinion is a pretty average and good price for a bb cream. I will update on how long it takes me to use it up and buy a refill. Refills cost around $12-14, so as long as you have the container, it’s easy to switch out among the three, so bonus points for that!

Application, usage, quality, personal liking towards product.

The application of this product is almost dream-like. No brushes needed, no need to dirty your hands. The puff does its work amazingly and there isn’t much product needed. Because this product is based on achieving a natural look, it doesn’t look overdone even if you apply a second layer. The container is of decent quality. Even after keeping it in my school bag for almost a week now, there is no scratch or dent. The writing hasn’t faded either. So personally I really like this product. The only problem I have with it, is that if you have a dry skin it won’t blend well. But then again, this product is recommended to those with complex or oily skins.

To conclude this review. The Innisfree Long Wear cushion has to be one of my favourite BB creams. It’s compact, easy to throw in your bag and it has a mirror. The puff is extremely handy because you don’t have to dirty your own hands, so you can basically use it everywhere. Because even the inquisitor needs some loving for her skin (am I right, Cullen?).

So for someone who does her make up in the train on her way to class, the Innisfree BB cushions are a good choice.
