It's actually not too dark--definitely a lot lighter than western contouring powders. I wear the 2nd or 3rd shade in Korean BB creams and I don't even have to apply this with a light hand. The 04 shade is probably only for fair-skinned people. The color of this powder is pretty natural. It honestly just looks like the color of deeply tanned skin, except maybe a little less saturated. If you find other contouring powders to be too pink, this one might work better for you.
