The essence has a nice consistency: it's a clear, watery gel comparable to the Benton essence. It absorbs quickly and is fragrance free.My skin has been pretty clear since using the essence and lotion. Overall, it's a great fragrance free essence that's good for acne prone skin. But it doesn't offer brightens benefits.
