I started using this a little while after my skin recovered from a really bad reaction/allergy, so I've been using it for a few weeks now. My skin is still a lot more sensitive than usual these days, and this doesn't break me out badly, but I don't see an amazing effect like many other reviewers had. I'm still patiently using this though and hoping it will work better for my skin as the weather warms up here in Canada.
I'm not sure if it is caused by this product or if it's just a coincidence from something else I've been using (and perhaps leftover hypersensitivity from my allergy), but my skin hasn't been 100% smooth when using this. Nowadays I have a tiny pimple or two on my face, when I usually have none. I also feel a bit of a slightly rough texture on my skin, which is also out of the ordinary. I may stop using this for a little while to test if it is really this product that is causing the uneven skin texture.
However, I do find that this hydrates nicely, and would probably be a very nice lightweight moisturizer for a lot of people during the summer. Right now I'm using this along with a serum and a moisturizer. I cannot use it on its own at the moment. I usually just use one layer of this toner, or two. I find it feels like too much for my skin to handle if I use more than that.
Overall, this is a nice toner/refiner. It is packaged in a nice no-fuss frosted glass bottle that feels of really good quality. The toner itself is a bluish-white liquid that has no discernible scent (thank you Laneige for not making this super fragranced!), and has a good amount in the bottle. I've been using this for a few weeks yet have barely made a dent in the amount (as seen in the photo).
I can see this working extremely well for a lot of people, and I hope that it can work better for me in the future as well. However, since this seems to be causing some skin sensitivities for me, I cannot give it a full five stars. I would have given it 4.5 stars instead of 4 if I could, though!
